What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. South Luangwa National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $225 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.
There is no single park fee here. On top of the gate fee, camps pass on vehicle fees, guide fees and bed levies, and what applies depends on whether the camp sits inside the national park or in the Game Management Area alongside it. Kafunta Safaris, who charge one combined figure covering the government levies, told us it comes to $60 per person per night at their two GMA camps and $90 at their camp inside the park. Treat that as the shape of it rather than a universal rate: the amounts move with each operator's lease.

Is Zikomo Safari Camp good for families?
Partly. One chalet sleeps up to four guests, making it the camp's only real family option, while the other six chalets take a maximum of two. The lodge's site blocked our checks, so we could not find a minimum age; ask the owners directly about family arrangements.
Can you self-drive to Zikomo Safari Camp?
No. The camp does not permit independent vehicle travel; transfers run in a 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser, typically a 45-minute drive from Mfuwe International Airport. During the end of the wet season, the drive in takes a little longer.
What does the rate at Zikomo Safari Camp include?
The all-inclusive rate covers chalet accommodation, meals, snacks, laundry, wifi, two game activities a day, airport transfers, and drinks including coffee, tea, juice, soda, house wine and local beer. Park and conservation fees and premium beverages are charged separately.
When is Zikomo Safari Camp open?
It runs a single season, 15 May to 15 December, closing the rest of the year because the roads become impassable in the rains. This is one of the longer seasons in the valley, running into mid-December.
Is there wifi at Zikomo Safari Camp?
Yes, wifi is included in the all-inclusive rate alongside meals, laundry and two game activities a day. This is more generous connectivity than many of the valley's smaller owner-run camps offer.
